Chef's Choice 8500001 Review by Plunder

This is not a cheap tool but I wanted a good waffle maker so I took the plunge and bought it in March, 2010. It is by far the best waffle maker I have ever used. It has been used extensively over the last several months and has never failed me. One of the big tricks is to preheat and then put 1 tablespoon of water on the surface, close, let it go through the cycle and then make your waffles. As long as I follow that procedure, my waffles never stick. Great product and I am very happy with it.

We used the Chef's Choice M850 twice. The waffles were good. Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to really test out the different settings. The third time we plugged it in, it started fine but then started beeping and flashing 7:77 in the display. Now, whenever we plug it in, it only does that: beeping and flashing 7:77. It doesn't even heat up.

I'm contacting Chef's Choice customer service tomorrow and will add to my review based on that experience.

We have been looking for a long time for a waffle iron the makes waffles like we like them, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Makes great waffles and easy to use. Love it!
